The power of 8pm – 12am.

We’ve gotten soft in America.

And “working hard” has come to mean ACTUALLY working from 9am – 5pm.

This is garbage. Plain and simple.

In a world where almost everyone is at least sitting a desk for 8 hours a day…

Also working 8 hours a day will not give you an advantage. It’s table stakes.

In my mind: working hard is going from 8am – 12am…with a couple hour break for family in the evening. 6 days a week.

I’ve lived this in my own career…and seen it with many others.

The minute I finally committed to outworking my peers, instead of just trying to “outsmart” them…

Everything got better. My performance skyrocketed. And so did my income.

Now I know many people will say: “Well, wait a second John. That’s nice you work hard. But I am a work smart person. I beat others with my mind, not my effort.”

This is also garbage.

The only way to get “smart” at anything is doing a ton of it…

An insane amount.

And this, again, requires TIME.

The more we do, the faster we learn.

I can’t tell you how many people I’ve met who think they can outsmart our insurance game…

Hundreds by now.

They think they know something that nobody else does, that will just allow them to beat others without having to put the work in.

I’m yet to see even one be moderately successful. Not even one!!

If you’re serious about your goals, starting point #1 is hard, hard work.

Period.

8am – 12am type work. Weekends type work.

This might seem crazy…

But the best people you’re competing with?

They are doing it.

And no amount of “intelligence” is going to give you a leg up on them.

Be honest with yourself.

If you ACTUALLY want to make $10 million, have the house of your dreams, and get rid of $350k of debt in only 12 months?

You’re going to have to put the work in.

Don’t let yourself off the hook with this silly “working smart” stuff…

It’s a joke.
